Questions

Good to know

What does the $300 participation fee include?

The fee is $300 per company for this event, with no limit on the number of company representatives attending. It includes event-day logo display and promotion, demos of work developed around brand needs, participation in presenting awards to winning teams, and opportunities to discuss further collaboration with participants.

Do I need to know anything about AI or tech?

Not at all. Describe the problem the way you'd explain it to a new employee. We handle turning it into a brief for the builders.

Will my customers' information be shared?

Only what you choose to share. Most teams work from FAQs, menus, policies and example messages with personal details removed. We'll go through it together on the intake call.

Does my brand own the system or product?

Participation does not automatically give your brand full ownership. If you want to use or further develop a solution, discuss usage rights, licensing, fees and maintenance directly with the participating team.

Can a brand outside the Bay Area apply?

Yes. The introductory and in-depth calls can take place online. Please discuss event-day attendance and award-presentation arrangements with us when confirming participation.

Can we talk in Chinese?

Yes. Our team works in both English and Chinese.

How are brands matched with teams?

We discuss your brief, the proposed scope and team-matching arrangements before confirming participation. Share the outcome you hope to see so we can assess how it fits the hackathon.

When do I pay? Is the fee refundable?

Start by submitting your brief. Payment instructions will be provided during participation confirmation. The $300 participation fee is non-refundable once paid.
